Our client, an inhouse Advertising Agency with offices in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, is seeking an experienced Retail Media Director to join their team. This is fully on-site so only candidates who are within a commutable location to Northern NJ will be considered. This professional will lead the development and execution of comprehensive retail media strategies across platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, Criteo, and other emerging retail networks.
This position will oversee end-to-end media planning, execution, and optimization—covering Sponsored Ads and DSP campaigns—to drive measurable business growth and brand performance within key retail channels. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in eCommerce media with strong leadership skills and a strategic mindset to elevate the brand’s presence in a fast-evolving retail media landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all aspects of retail media planning, strategy, and activation across major platforms including Amazon and Walmart.
- Serve as the main point of contact for retail media, leading conversations, presentations, and quarterly business reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor a team of specialists, overseeing campaign setup, execution, pacing, and optimization to achieve key business objectives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Channel Marketing, Sales, and Creative teams to ensure seamless integration of retail media initiatives within broader marketing efforts.
- Develop and execute Sponsored Ads and DSP strategies, including keyword mining, audience targeting, competitive analysis, and category trend identification.
- Monitor daily budget pacing, bidding strategies, and monthly spend allocation to ensure performance and efficiency.
Analyze campaign performance data to identify actionable insights, inform optimizations, and support long-term strategic planning. - Implement testing and innovation initiatives to enhance performance, efficiency, and platform expertise.
- Train and guide junior team members, fostering professional growth and hands-on learning in campaign management and retail media execution.
- Maintain a deep understanding of evolving retail media platforms, tools, and best practices to ensure continued leadership in the space.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in digital media strategy, planning, or activation roles, with a strong background in retail media.
- Hands-on experience managing Amazon Advertising campaigns (Sponsored Ads and DSP).
- Familiarity with additional retail media platforms such as Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, Wayfair, or other marketplaces.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing client or stakeholder communications.
- Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience deriving actionable insights from performance data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Highly detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Self-motivated and eager to stay ahead of emerging retail media tools, trends, and technologies.
