Our client, an in-house advertising agency with offices in Englewood Cliffs, NJ, is looking to add a strategic and data-driven CRM and Lifecycle Marketing Manager to lead the development, execution, and optimization of customer journey and triggered communications across email and SMS channels. This long term, full-time contract role will be on-site, so candidates from the New York / New Jersey metropolitan area will be considered.
This role will be responsible for driving engagement, retention, and loyalty by delivering personalized, timely, and relevant experiences throughout the customer lifecycle.
In this position, we seek a technical, detail-oriented and highly organized Email & Strategy Marketing Manager to lead personalized, data-driven retail campaigns across email, SMS, and web. Must excel in lifecycle marketing, CRM (ideally Attentive), customer segmentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Journey & Triggered Campaign Leadership: Deployment end to end SMS experience including overseeing the setup, monitoring, and optimization of automated customer journeys and triggered campaigns using the Attentive platform and GA4 for performance tracking, insights, and continuous improvement.
- Post-Purchase Engagement Strategy: Design and manage post-purchase communication programs, from onboarding and setup guidance to quick tips, reminders, upsell, and replenishment, to keep customers engaged and supported throughout their ownership experience.
- Email & SMS Channel Management: Lead the planning and execution of lifecycle campaigns, ensuring accurate segmentation, targeting, and delivery aligned with brand voice and business objectives.
- Personalization & Product Recommendations: Oversee dynamic product recommendation strategies within email and SMS to replicate and seamlessly integrate the customer experience between web and owned channels.
- Analytics & Reporting: Develop and maintain performance dashboards, analyze D2C campaign results, audience segmentation and provide actionable insights to optimize engagement and conversion metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with eCommerce, MarTech, and Creative teams to align messaging, creative assets, and technical set up across channels for a cohesive customer experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4-5 years of experience in CRM, lifecycle, or retention marketing, with at least 2 years in a lead role.
- 4 years of hands on experience building and managing email and SMS marketing journeys and campaigns from scratch.
- Proven proficiency with Attentive (or similar marketing automation platforms) and GA4.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Experience with data visualization tools (dashboarding / Looker Studio is a plus).
- Demonstrated success in developing automated journeys, personalization, and cross-channel engagement programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and project management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to optimize marketing campaigns with experience in e-commerce/D2C
- Familiarity with no-code email/landing page builders like Klaviyo, Knak.
